Why introduce seeds into your diet?

Due to the increase in concern about the body and health, the consumption of seeds became more important in the Portuguese diet. An eating habit that has been shown to be very beneficial for health.

At a nutritional level, seeds provide several vitamins, minerals, fiber, fats and oils essential to the functioning of our body, and also have high energy values. They demonstrate important properties in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, among others.

They are easy to introduce into food, and can be consumed whole or ground, used as a topping, as a seasoning, in salads, mixed into flour or in yogurts and smoothies. Or can be consumed just as a simple snack.

There is a huge variety of seeds that have unique characteristics and that work in different situations. The seeds that have proven to be most sought after among the Portuguese are pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, linseed seeds and hemp seeds.
